WAIAU PA

Through a horse he was driving last Wednesday "shying" at some sacks that were stacked by the side of the cross roads near the Waiau Pa pttblio hall and running on to the roadside bank and thereby capsiiing the conveyance in which they were seated, Mr John Evans and his daughter, Miss "Ollie" Evans, were thrown heavily to the ground. The latter escaped with little injury but Mr Evans sustained a severe shaking. He was taken home in a motor-car but he is still confined to bed suffering from shock. Everything is well forward for the bazaar to be held in the Waiau Pa public hall next Wednesday in aid of the Bed Cross funds. The local ladies are working most assiduously and their efforts promise to be rewarded by die undertaking proving a brilliant success.
