POLLOK.

The Pollok schoolroom was the scene on Friday evening last of a farewell concert and dance held in honour of Privates H. Morrison and F. Hall, who are shortly to dp part for the front. Both soldiers are widely known and highly esteemed in the district. Mr Drummond presided. Vocal items rendered by Misses Given, McLean, and Kemp were well received. At the conclusion of the concert dancing was indulged in, continuing until the small hours of the morning. Music was supplied by Misses Morrison and McLean and Air Rena.l During an interval Mr Drummond, on behalf of those assembled, wished the departing soldiers God speed and a safe return.
