Rilleman San up! Oixon, of Otahuhu, is reported as having been wounded and admitted to hospital on Aueust 22nd. Otalmlm received a visit from the Auckland Salvation Army Silver Band on Saturday evening last. They were met at the Otahuhu Railway Station by the I'apatoetoe Scouts Band and were played to the Otahuhu Parish Hall, where an official welcome was accorded them them by the Mayor (Mr A. McDonald). Under the baton of Bandmaster Leighton an excellent musical programme was submi't d On Sunday morning a service was conducted by Brigadier Carmii.hael at the Salvation Army barracks and in the afternoon the Band visited Prtjiatoetoe when a musical servics was held in the Town Hall. At the Otahuhu Public Hall on Sunday evening a special memorial pervioe was conducted by Brigadier Carmichael to the memory of fallen heroes at the war. Subsequently a sacred cantata entitled " The Wreck •■f the Wairaripa " was given in the Public Hall the connecting readings being supplied by Envoy Gray. A minstrel troupe concert in which Mi's-rs D. App% J Walsh, F. Woods and F. Somerton will take part is likeiy to be given at the Public Hall, Otahuhu, at an early date. The proceeds will be devoted to the Red Cross funds.
