PAPATOETOE.

A claim for £l6 6s 6d damages was made by William Docherty, carpenter, Papatoetoe (Mr Mossman), against James Gillard, farmer, Papatoetoe (Mr Reyburn,) in the Auckland Magistrate's Court before Mr £. C. Cutten 8.M., last Tuesday. Plaintiff stated that he was riding a bicycle when he met defendant in a milk cart. Thelatter's dog, which was running in front of the cart, ran into the bicycle and caused it to capsize, with the result that he waf run over by defendant's cart. He was rendered unconcious, and was away from work for a fortnight, as the result of hi s injuries. The defence was that the dog did not collide with the bicycle. Judgment for £7 10s and costs was given in favour of the plaintiff.
