FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL NOTICE OF INTENTION TO BORROW WAIAU-KARAKA SPECIAL RATING AREA LOAN OF £27,000 NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Franklin County Council, in pursuance and exercise of the p( were vested in it by the Local Bodies' Loans Aojfc, 1913, and Amendments thereto, and with the consent of the Governor-General in Council under Section 26 of the Appropriation Act, 1915, as gazetted on page 3790 of the N.Z. Gazette, 1917, to borrow the sum of £27,000. for the purpose of construction of main roads within the Waiau - Karaka Special Rating Area (including the payment of compensation for land required to be taken for any deviation or deviations found to be necessary on such roads, the purchase or hire of any horses, plant and machinery required to carry out such work, and such other costs, charges and expenses as the Franklin County Council may determine to have been actually incurred in connection with such loan) as follows : (a) Patumahoe to Waiau Road from the north eastern corner of Section 16, Waiau Parish, to the Waiau Pa Wharf. (b) Waiau to Papakura Road from the Patumahoe to Waiau Road at the south eastern corner of Section 70, Waiau Parish, to the Hingaia Bridge. (c) Waiuku to Drury Road from the Mauku Bridge at southernmost corner of Section 20, Waiau Parish, to the Karaka No. 2 School opposite the easternmost corner of Section Number 233, Karaka Parish. (d) Karaka to Waiau Road from Waiuku Drury Road at Karaka No. 2 School corner to the Te Hihi School corner at Section 30 Karaka Parish on Waiau to Papakura Road. (e) Karaka to Papakura Road from the Karaka to Waiau Road at Black Bridge corner to the Waiau to Papakura Road at Cottar's and Smale's corner. AND as security for the payment of interest, sinking fund and other charges on the said loan, to make and levy a Special Rate of one penny and one seventh of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Waiau-Karaka Special Rating Area of Franklin County. The said loan of £27,000 is for a period of 36} years at the rate of interest of five and a quarter per centum p?r annum, together with an additional charge of one per centum per annum to provide the necessary sinking fund. It is proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan and the interest and sinking fund for the first year. Dated at Pukekohe this 6th day of August, 1918. W. CLAUD MOTION. 441 County Chairman BOROUGH OF PUKEKOHE NOTICE OF INTENTION TO BORROW In pursuance of Section 9 of "The Local Bodies' Loans Aot, 1913" notice is hereby given that it is the intention of the Pukekohe Borough Council to borrow the sum of £2,500 for the purpose of purchasing land for a site for a Technical High School proposed to be erected in Pukekohe and for paving all expenses incidental to such purchase. It is proposed to pay out of the loan the preliminary expenses and all costs incidental to the raising of the loan but not the interest and sinking fund for the first year. The proposed security for the said loan and for the payment of sinking fund (amounting to $ percentum per annum) and interest not to exceed 5J per cent, per annum is a special rate of l-9th of a penny in the pound proposed to be made and levied on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of Pukekohe. The loan to be repayable within a period of eight years from the raising of the loan. J. F. The above method of publication of the Balance Sheet has been authorised by His Excellency the Governor under the Public Revenues Act, 1910. J. K.
