OTAHUHU.
Despite the short time available to make preparation for a Paddy's Market in aid of the Red Cross fund many loyal and willing workers responded readily to the claims of the moment and on Friday evening the ' 'tahuhu Public Hall with its heavily laden stalls presented a pleasing appearance. Every helper did his or ber best, many of the elder ladies showing unusual energy and determination to excel. Bales were brisk on Friday evening, but Saturday night was the people's outing an<? the crowd which gathered as the evening drew on was typical of a Saturday night's market. Those who took charge of the stalls were: Misses Smith, Wills and Absolum (Lollies 1 ,; Mesdames Muir, Mason and Mclvor and Rowley (Produce); Mrs Armstong and Mis* Wingate (Flowers); Mesdames Lippiatt, Goodwin, (J. Fraser and Carson (Tea Rooms); Mesdames M< rfitt and Nixon (Jumble), whilst the Misses Graham and K. Moffitt were iu charge of the Bran Tub and Messrs White and Willsteid supei intended the Skittle Alley.
