PAPAKURA.
THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH The sixty-third annual meeting of the Papakura-Drury Presbyterian Church was held at Papakura last week. The Rev Frank Hales, the minister of the charge, presided. Good reports were received from the Sunday school, the Bible Class, and the Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union. There had been 31 members added to the roll during the year, the membership now being 124. The financial s'atement was presented by the treasurer, Mr J. R. Wilson. The total income had been £690, over £IOO of which had been raised by the ladies of the congregation for special objects. The general account showed a credit balance of £4B. In commemoration of the fourth anniversary of the declaration of the war with Germany, special services will be held at the Papakura Methodist Church at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday next. At the evening service the unveiling of the Roll of Honour and memorial service in memory of fallen soldiers will take place. Special music will be rendered by the choir at both services. In connection with the anniversary of the declaration of war with Germany a special address will be given at the Papakura Anglican Church by the Vicar W C Wood) on Sunday evening next at 7 o'clock As an example of the brotherly spirit and comradeship extended t)wards the late Mr Thomas
ronovan, whose untimely death place on Monday, 22nd July last, it is worthy of record that four of his fellow employees arranged and paid for the funeral expenses. These were Messrs Tim Howard, Ales Edgar and J and C Mills Such a gracious act is to be commended. A letter has been received by the Papakura Town Board from the Department of Internal Affairs stating that Mr H M Skeet (Commissioner of Crown Lands) and Mr Morgan (GovernmentiDistrict Valuer) will form the commission to hear objections to the proposed alteration of boundaries between the Franklin
and Manakau County Councils' and the Papakura Town Board districts. The date for holding the commission has not yet been fixed.
