WREN'S PATRIOTIC LEAGUE The monthly meeting of the Buckland branch of the Women's Patriotic League was held on July 25th, Mrs H. H. D. Wily presiding The following knitted goods were handed in by Mrs McKean, viz, socks from Mesdames Driver 14 pairs ; McKean 10 pairs; Partridge 9 pairs ; Harper 5 pairs ; Barber 4 pairs; Johnston 3 pairs; Avery, King, Hartland and James one pair each ; Misses Wilcox 3 pairs ; Johnston, U. Wily, Gh Sweet 2 pairs each. Mrs Twidle one cap ; Myrtle Neal one cap and one paii a.ittens; Mrs Waterhouse one chest protector; Mrs Newton, Mrs Pook, Miss Rona Pollock and Miss Owen Sweet one scarf each. Mrs Avery handed in the follow ing Red Cross work : Mesdames D. Wily 3 pairs of pyjamas ; Horne 2 pairs; Avery, Greenway, Melville, Neal and Miss Hay one pair each. The following subscriptions received for July were also acknowledged, vir. Mesdames Davy, Jackson, J. Barber 5s each; J. Wylie, Neal, Carter, Melville, Rogers 2s 6d each; Peters 2s.
