In view of the Rod Cross concert taking place the same evening, there was only a brief sitting of the Otahuliu Borough Council at its ordinary fortnightly meeting last Thursday night, the members present being the Mayor (Cr. \. and performed most creditably. The programme consisted of songs and choruses of a national and humorous nature, the artists forming the quartette. in addition to Mr. McDonald, being Messrs. Alan McElwain and Ripley and Miss Laura Stone, with Mrs. Ripley as pianist. The installation meeting of the Loyal Franklin Lodge (No. (1453) M,U. of Oddfellows took place on Wednesday last at the Masonic Hall. (!tahuhu. Bro. W. Pee was installed as N.G.. Bro. H. .Jackson as V.G., and Bro. H. Wills as Secretary. The installing officer, who also presided over the assembly, was G.M. Bro. A. White.
