A campaign f r funds for the Bed Cross was opened on Fiidav, June 7lli, iu the GleveJi»u Public Hall, by Mr Mr C. F. Bickford (Hon Provincial Organiser of the British Red ijro'S Society. Mr P.ic'tford made ft stirring appeal for further assistance for the R> vl Cross funds and a special committee wns appointed to organise a Queen Carnival and Stock Drive with a view of raising £2OOO in the Olevedon district. Mr Bickford brought a concert party from Auckand and a much appreciated concert was given by Mrs Leslie and party. \fter the concert the gu6sts of "the evening partook of a supper provided by the ladies of the Red Cross dewing League.
