TUAKAU
Some excellent specimens of Sutton's " Up-to-date " swedes grown by Mr Walter Barnaby on his farm, Harrisville Road, Tuakau, have been entered for the 30-guinea cup to be competed for at the Waikato Winter Show to be held at Hamilton next week, These swedes are from seed sown late in December last. On behalf of the Red Cross Funds a tea was given in the Public Hall on Wednesday afternoon last by Mesdames C. Osbourne, North more and Reehall. Among those recently killed in action are two brothers, viz., Captain George H Holland, M.C., on May !15 th, and Private Frederick J. Holland on May Bth, both of whom were born and educated at Tuakau, their parents being Mr and Mrs J. C. Holland, now of Remuera and formerly of Tuakau. The deceased soldiers were cousins of Mr P. Rowe, of Tuakan, and one of thnir sisters is Mrs Cruiekshank, of Papatoetoe. The elder brother, Captain Holland, enlisted as a private with the Main Expeditionary Force and rapidly gained promotion on the field, also being awarded the Military Cross for conspicuous bravery. Private Frederick Holland left with the 30th Reinforcement Draft,
