STOCK SALE REPORTS.
Alfred Buckland and Sons., Ltd., report On Wednesday at our weekly Westfield fat stock market, we sold beef to the number of 321 head, comprising 204 steers, 114 cows and heifers, and 3 bulls. There was a steady demand throughout, and last week's advance was sustained. Choice ox sold to £2 9s per 1001b, prime quality £2 5s to £2 7s, rough and plain beef £1 19s to £2 2s, cow and heifer beef £1 18s to £2 5 s per 1001b steers ranged in price from £l2 to £2O los, cows and heifers £8 to £l6 os. Sheep again came forward in large numbers, and included a big proportion of unfinished. The demand and values were similar to late sales. Extra heavy prime wethers £1 19s 3d to £2 3s, heavv prime wethers £l 17s to £1 19s, medium to heavy fat wethers £1 13s' 6d to £1 16s fid, light fat wethers £1 lis to £1 13s, large framed unfinished wethers £1 10s to £1 13s, smaller unfinished wethers £ 1 3s to £1 8s 6d, best heavy prime ewes £1 9a to £1 14s, a few special made £1 16s to £1 19s, good fat ewes £1 6s to £1 8s 6d, lighter ewes £1 2s 6d to £1 sb, other ewes 12s to 18s. (1894 sold). There was a full supply of lambs which met with steady sale at last week's values. Best heavy prime £1 6s 6d to £1 9s (a small lot realised £l 16s), lighter prime lambs £1 38 6dto £1 6s, light 16s to 19s, unfinished 12s to los, small stores 5s 6dtolos6d. (412 sold). Fat and young calves camA forward in full numbers, the majority being runners and heavy vealers. Prices remained the same as at late sales. Bunners made fiom £5 to £7 15s, heavy vealers £3 15s to £4 15?, medium £2 10s to £3 10s, light £1 15s to £i os, small and fresh dropped 3s to £1 10s. (97 sold). There was again a large yarding of pigs, which sold freely at late values. The demand for baconers was extra keen. Choppers and heavy baconers made from £4 10s to £5 10s, others £3 15s to £4 7s 6d, large porkers £2 15s to £3 12s 6d, medium £2 5s to £2 12s 6d, small £1 lUs to £2 3s, slips 15s to £ I 15s. (838 sold).
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report We had rather more than the average yarding at Waiuku last Saturday for this season of the year. Buyers were present.in large numbers and we report a successful sale, everything sold with the exception of calves, which were dull of aale. Dairy cows and heifers were penned in large numbers, some very choice heifers being yarded which made up to £l6 ss, other heifera £l2 10s to £l3 10s. We quote—Best dairy cows and heifers, £ls to £l6 5s ; others, £ll 10s to £l4 15s ; backward and poorer sorts, £7 10s to £ll 5s ; small heifers down to £5 Fat and forward cows sold at from £9 to £lO 15s ; empty cows and heifers, £5 10s to £X 12s 6d ; old and inferior down to £3. Calves were quiet in demand although a pen of nice c dour steers made £-1 3s, others £2 to £3 159 ; heifer calves, £1 10s to £3 5s ; bad colours and weedy, from 5s upwards Lambs, fat and forward. 18s. Weaner pigg, 13a 6d to 16s. Fowls, Is 6 J to 2a 3d; dutks, 3?. The advertised 12$ acrea of turnips were keenly bid for and brought £5 lis per acre. At the
conclusion of the stock sale we dieposed of the furniture of Mr J. F. Murray at his residence View Road, the competition being keen and prices well up to ruling rates. We held a clearing sale at Mr Geo. Colville's farm, Mauku, as advertised on Tuesday last when there was a large attendance of buyers, bidding being keen. Best dairy cows, spring calvers, sold from £ls to £l7 109; others, £ll >3 to £l4 10s; backward, £0 to £ll. Furniture, farm implements, saddlery, sundries, etc., sold at ruling rates. Discs £l3' 10s, harrows £.5 10s, gigs £l2 and £29.
