STOCK SALE REPORTS.
Alfred Buckland and Sons , Ltd., report : On Wednesday, at our weekly Westfield fat stock market, we sold beef to the number of 459 head, comprising :i(),s steers, 118 cows and heifers, ami 3 hulls. Thesenumber' represent more than an average yarding. There was only a moderate demand, and values again receded. Choice ox sold to £2 8s per 1001b, prime £2 4s to £2 6s, rough and plain beef £ 1 19s to £2 2s, cow and heifer beef £2 to £2 5s per lOOlh. Steers ranged in price from £lO Ids to £2O 17s Gd. Sheep were penned in large numbers, but there was no improvement as regards quality Prime mutton sold at about last week's rates, other classes being slightly easier. Extra heavy prime wethers made from £1 19s to £2 3s, heavy prime £1 lGs to £1 18s, medium to heavy prime £1 13s to £1 15s 6d, light and unfinished £1 7s to £1 lis 6d, store wethers £1 £l 6s 6d, best heavy prime ewes £1 lis odto£l Hs od, good fat £1 9s to £1 lis, lighter £l is to £l 8s fid, others 10 6d to £1 Is (1903 sold). Lambs came forward in increased numbers, and sold readily, except in cases of weakly and small sorts. Best heavy prime lambs £1 8s to £1 f3s fid, good prime lambs £1 3s fid to £ I 7s, lighter 18s .to £1 2s fid, light and unfinished 12s fid to IDs, small and weak 4s to 10s (495 sold) We had a full market of fat and young calves. The majority were runners, and these were easier in price; small choice vealers are wanted. Runners made from £ 1 I-5s to £8 5s for a nice eighteen month heifer, heavy vealers £3 10s to £ I 10s, medium £2 12s to £3 ss, light £1 15s to £2 10s, small and fresh dropped 2s to £1 10s (71 sold). Pigs came forward in smaller numbers than of late, and improved in value. Choppers and heavy bacohers made from £4 10s to £5 3s, others £3 15s to £ 1 7s fid, large porkers £3 5s to £3 12s, medium £2 10s to £3, small £1 10s to £2 ss, slips 16s to £1 6s, weaners 8s to 14s fid (Ifil sold). We held our monthly sale in the Waiuku yards on Saturday and for the time of year there was a full yarding There was a large attendance and values were much the same as those obtained at last month's sale, dairy cows and heifers selling at from £9 to £l4 10s, fat cows and heifers £9 10s to £l3 10s, empty cows £5 5s to £8 17s, yearling to eighteen-month steers £5 15s to £7 10s, heifers same age £4 to £6 10s, best calves £3 3s to £3 15s, smaller £2 5s to £3, small and coloured calves 15s to £1 15s, bulls £8 to £l4, weaner pigs 12s to 16s, slips £l 2s to £l ss, small porkers £1 10s to £2 2s.
