POKENO

A very successful basket social was held in the Pokeno Public Hall on Friday, 26th April last, the object being to augment the piano fund in connection with tlia Public hall. The baskets donated were tastefully arranged and contained acceptable e.itables and refreshments. Just before supper the baskets were auctioned by Mr J. Graham and produced prices ranging from osto £'2 2s each. Dancing was freely indulged in. Mr S. P. Pendegrast capably acted as M.C and music was supplied bv Mr Malcolm Brown, extras being played by Mr Austin Graham and Mrs J. Graham. Altogether tho function was a decided suceFS, the sum of £2o 11 s 6d being realised.
