BOMBAY
The annual meeting of householders in the Bombay School District was held in the school on Monday night Twelve householders were present, the same being the largest number in attendance for years, numbers usually being only just sufficient to form the committee. Mr W. K. Cornthwaite (the Chairman of the outgoing committee) read the circular received from the Education Board setting forth the proceedings of annual meetings of householders, after which he asked the meeting to elect a Chairman for the annual meeting. On the motion of Mr French, seconded by Mr Donovan, Mr Cornthwaite was elected chairman of the meeting. The chairman read the report and statement of the receipts and expenditure and the report of the Headmaster. The accounts showed a credit balance of £ll 8s 4d.
The report and financial statement, which had been duly audited, were adopted. Copies of three resolutions received from the Teachers' Institution, Wellington, the Auckland Branch of the Teachers' Institute, the Auckland Primary School Committees' Association were submitted to the meeting and after considerable discussion all three were passed as read.
The election ol the new Committee was then proceeded with. Ten of the householders out of the twelve present were duly nominated and balloted for with the result that Messrs W. K. Cornthwaite, R. Donovan, A. Best, A. French and G. Common were elected. At the first meeting of the new Comm'ttee Mr Cornthwaite was elected chairman, secretary and treasurer.
