OTAHUHU OTAHUHU BOWLING CLUB. The following are the results of matches played last Saturday, viz. : Championship Pairs—George and Carson 21 v. Whitmore and Madigan 10 ; Dennison and Bullen 22 v. Sturgess and Spedway 20 ; Gillies and Hebden 31 v. May and Todd 28. Derby Stakes—Baker 18, 19, v. Kemplay 17, 17; Cook 17, 21 v. Bailey 15, 19. Percentage Fours Harvey, Thompson, W. Brown, Wood 21 v. Elliott, West, Apps, Fernley 18 ; C. Whitmore, Meyer, Whyte, Carson 26 v. Kennedy, T. Brown, Fraser, Henry 14.

A couple of local schoolboys, aged 9 and 10 respectively, were charged at a Juvenile Court held before Mr Wyvern Wilson yesterday with the theft of a riding saddle valued at £2. After hearing the evidence the Magistrate convicted the younger of the two as he was not under proper control and admonished the other. The brother of the former, aged 12, was also brought up as not being under proper control and was committed to the Boys Training Farm, Nelson. For driving a motor cycle on the public highway at Papatoetoe at a speed dangerous to the public Frank Weniger, Marine Engineer, Auckland, was at the Otahuhu Magistrate's Court yesterday fined £2 and costs. It has been decided by the Otahuhu Patriotic Committee to devote the sum of £2O (in addition to the proceeds of the sale of the section given by Mr Meurant to the Committee) to the Dominion Gift Fund. Although the balance sheet has not yet been published it is gratifying to learn that about £370 will be available for patriotic purposes as the result of the recent Carnival. Mrs J. Brady, senr., the respected mother of Of J. Brady, is in a very serious state of health. Next Sunday being Easter Sunday special anthems will be sung at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. The classes to be held at the Otahuhu Technical School this season will include instruction.in practical dressmaking on Thursday evenings and in cookery (adults) on Wednesday evenings. Intending pupils are requested to enrol without delay with the Local Superintendent (Mr J. Colville Cook) in order that the necessary arrangements may be made. The usual fortnightly meeting ot the Otahuhu Borough Council will be held next Thursday evening.
