CLEVEDON.
An enterprising firm of picture proprietors has commenced showing films in Clevedon every Saturday evening and the attendance being so good, the entertainments are to be continued indefinitely. A very compact little farm belonging to Mr R. Denton, of "Pinehurst," Clevedon, has lately been purchased by Mr B. Kempton, of Brookby, the price given being £55 an acre. A clearing sale of Mr Denton's stock, farm implements, &c, the former including a choice herd of Jerseys, took place on Tuesday last, good prices being secured for all the cows, the highest figure being fifteen guineas. Harvest thanksgiving services were held at All Souls', Clevedou, on Sunday last, Mr B. Gothorp, of Fapakura, taking the morning service, while Rev W. H. Wilson, of St Heliers, officiated in the evening. The Church was prettily decorated with toi-tois, greenery and grain sheaves, interpersed with an abundant supply of fruit and vegetables. An autumn show under the auspices of the All Souls' Autumn Show Society is to be held early next month the following officers having been elected for this year, viz.: Piesident, Rev W. C. Wood; vicePresidents, Messrs Crispe and Waters ; committee , Messrs Allen, Brown, Dawe, Gee, Hyde, Stephens, Meadames Browne, Collett, Dawe, Gee, Hyde, T. Smith, F. Stephens, Misses Noble, Thorpe.
