STOCK SALE REPORTS.
Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sods, Ltd., report as follows : We held our monthly sale in the Pukekohe yards on Monday, and had an extra large yarding of sto«k, all classes being strongly represented. Buyers were in attendance, and we report a good sale. Dairy cows and heifers brought from £8 10s to £l7, according to quality; empty cows and heifers £6 10s" to £9 18s, forward three to three-and-a-half year oldßteers£l2 to £l3 ss, well bred two to three-year-old steers £lO to £ll 10s, 18-month to two-year-old steers £8 to £9 18s, yearling to 18month heifers £4 15s to £6 15s, best steer calves £4 to £4 14s, mixed sexes best calves £3 8s to £3 18s, good calves mixed sexes £2 17s to £3 6s, smaller calves £2 8s to £2 15s, small and weedy 10s to £2 2s, small fat steers £l4 to £ls 17s 6d, fat cows and heifers £9 10s to £ 16 2s 6d, heavy bulls £l3 to £l7 10s, other bulls £7 to £l2 10s.
On Wednesday at our Westfield fat stock market we penned fat cuttle to the number of 323 head, comprising 225 steers, 94 cows and heifers, and 4 bulls. The <juaiuyon the whole was superior to recent markets, there being several consignments of heavy prime steers. Competition was keen throughout and values very firm. Choice ox sold to £2 12s, prime ox £2 83 to £ >■ 10s, rough and plain beef £2 to £2 ss, cows and heifers £2 to £2 7s p.:r 1001b. Steers ranged in price fram £l3 10a to £2l 12s Gd. Shvo came forward in less than aver numbers. There was an improve! demand and values for fat theep were in advance of late sales. Exti a heavy prime wethers made frvm £1 19s to £2 2s 9d (the latter pi ice being realised for a pen from Mr James Taylor, Bardowio, lieavy prime wethers £1 16s to £1 18a 6d, medium to heavy print** £1 12s to £1 14s fid, uutiuihhed £l 7s to £1 lis fid, extra heavy prime young ewes £1 15s to £1 18s 9d, heavy tat £1 9s to£l 13s (11, lighter fat XI 3d to£l Bs, others Ids fid to £1 Bs, (1198 sold). The 314 lambs penned wore chiefly unfinished, and thes ; » were not wanted. The few fa's which came forward sold well. Best lambs £1 5s to £l 8s 3d (nothing extra prime offered), lighter £1 Is to £1 4s, light 14s to 18s fid, stores 9s to 13s fid. Fat and young calves came forward in full numbers, but very few choice vealers were yarded. Prices for all classes were firm at lite quotations. Runners made from £l 10s to £6 ss, heavy vealers £3 10s to £4 7s 6d, medium £2 lfisto £3 ss, light £1 15s to £2 12s, small and fresh dropped 3s to £1 106, (84 sold). We hail au average yarding of pigs and prices were firmer. Choppers and heavy baconers made from £5 10s to £7, others £3 15s to £5 ss, large porkeis £3 5s to £3 12s, medium £2 5s to £3 3s, light £1 18s to £2 2s. slips £1 to £1 13 s, weauerH and suckers 10s fid to 18.1, weedy 2s to fis (221 sold).
