Dr Bews has taken up his residence in Papatoetoe A Red Cross Day is to be held on the local howling and croquet greens on Saturday next. A tennis match will be played on the Papatoetoe courts next Saturday between Papatoetoe and East Tamiki. Messrs Gillard and Stancombe who met with a serious motor cycle accident on Tamaki road last week are reported to be progressing favourably. Mr Rudolph, cf Wallace road, his disp.sfid of his property to Mrs Oliver, late of Takapuna, and leaves t*> take up his residence in Remuera at the end of next week
There was a very large gathering of bowlers and friends on the. local green on Wednesday, the occasion being a farewell to Mr T. R. Clow who is leaving the district this oionth In the President's absence Vfr J. Watson, one of Papatoetoe's veteran bowlers, presented Mr Glow with a handsome gold Albert in token of. the high' esteem in which he is held by the members of the Club. Besides being the first President after the Club's inauguration Mr Clow has taken a very keen interest in bowling matters, having at different times presented trophies for competition. He also donated the Championship Ferns and Buckles. Mr Watson, on behalf of the Club, wished Mr Clow every success in his new venture and stated that the Club would lose in him a good member and the district a good citizen. The proceedings ended with the singing ->f " Fur He's a Jolly Good Fellow."
