The "WaipaPost" says: In the discussion on the night stock train service from Waikato W> Westfield at last Friday's Farmers' Union subexecu'ive meeting of Te Awamutu, it was said that day travelling, apart from the cruelty to animals, meant a dead loss of 2 or 3 lbs in sheep and 8 orlO lbs in beasts. " And that is a dead loss," said the speaker, " representing value that has been raised for waste through the national shortMghtedncss in railway." Anyhow," taid another speaker, " it is value we raise 1 that the Meat Tiust cannot get, and that's some consolation.''
