In Pukekohe The shopkeepers of Pukekohe on the advent of Christmas are, as usual, catering for the needs of one and all. At Mr H. Bendall'B establishment in Lawrie's Buildings, one can pur chase'safety mois, pouches, hair brushes, and all smokers' requisites. A bicycle makes a treasured Xmas present for adults of either sex or for boys and girls. Messrs Gallagher, Howe and Moore specialise in such machines as well as in other branches of their tftde. Father Christmas is coming to "The Bookery" on Friday and Monday next and his advent will, as usual, be hailed with delight by the children. In fact on Monday evenng the old patriarch isto make a free present to every child who is in attendance to meet him. In the Bookery is a range of toys which can hardly be excelled in Auckland. Dolls,'picture bookp, drums, tops, children's tricycles, and in fact over 500 different forms of Xmas presents are procurable at prices below Auckland rates. This is the children's wonderland and a visit to the establishment is invited. At Mr W. Koulston's store the householder can have his or her wants supphed. For ladies the ready -to- in various silks, will attract. Then there are children's frocks and ready-to-wear hats, while the men's and boy's suits and fancy shirts are a special line. In the grocery branch are Christmas hams, fruits, dates, nuts, dried apples and peaches, with a huge supply of goods specially selected for the Christmas tables.

When shopping most folk like to drop in for a cup of tea and at the Carnival Tea Rooms you can purchase high-class confectionery and refresh yourself with all dainties. These rooms, it may be mentioned, will be open next Friday, Saturday and Monday evenings. Novelties infancy goods, ready-to-wear costumes, assorted drapery articles, men's and boys' clothing are a feature at Messrs W. G. Shotbolt and Co's.

In furniture Mr H. Lenehan has a good display, including duchess chests, wooden bedsteads, hearthrugs, etc. , Cameras make a nice present and these can be purchased at Fear's Pharmacy at prices from 4s 3d to £5. A large assortment of scents, hairbrushes etc, are also shown. Mr H. W. King has a splendid range of footgear both for children and adults at his establishment and one can be assured of getting reliable and serviceable boots and shoes.

In millinery Mrs A. E. Massey displays some dainty ladies and children's Panama hats suitable for Christinas and holiday wear. At the Kozie Tea Rooms Mr W. J. Rossiter has a fine range of lollies-

Bracelets, bangles and jewellery, electro-plate vases and jewellery of all descriptions can be obtained at MrW Wn'gbt's establishment. Messrs H. Dell and Son have a splendid assortment of ladies' bags, suit cases, purses and leather goods. Messrs Frank Perkins and Co., cater for all requirements. In their drapery department they have daiuty embroidered blouses, summer frocks and a choice array of muslins and voiles. Of eatables currant cakes, nuts, almonds, fruits are stocked to mcftt the Christmas demands. Fancy cakes are a special feature. The firm are " Universal Providers," and their up-to-date establishment is worth a visit.
