NEW COUNTY CHAIRMAN.

Mr William Claud Motion, who has been again elected Chairman of the Franklin County Council, was appointed to the same position on the inauguration of the Council in July, 1912, and he held the office until November, 1914, when he was succeeded by Mr J. Flanagan. The new Chairman, who resides at Otaua, represents the Waipipi Riding on the Council and at the first election June, 1912, he secured a majority of 97 over Mr A. M. Barriball and in 1914 he had a majority of 123 ovet Mr W. L. West At the recent election he was returned unopposed. He was born in 1873 in Auckland.
