Langsford Walker took the pulpit in the afternoon and evening. . The tinging was a special feature, especially in the evening when the anthem "Incline thine ear" was well rendered, the Bible Class Girls taking a prominent part therein. Mr W. J. Dinnison sang the solo effectively. Mr A. McDonald acted as conductor of the choir throughout ■ the day Mr C. Fraser presided at the organ. A Standard VI. examination for proficiency certificates was conducted yesterday at the Otahuhu Public School by Inspector Lambourne. Preparations are being made for a monster patriotic carnival to be held at Fairhurn's Beach on the 16th February next. As an example of the advantages of motor traction for thorapid transit of goods it is interesting to record that a 2h ton chase motor lorry, belonging to Messrs Andrew and Andrew, of Otahuhu, left that firm's premises on Tuesday morning last with 75 cases of benzine for Mr W. Bouleton, at Pukekohe. After delivery of that cargo the lorry Went to Patumahoe station from whence a series of trips were carried out to Waiau Pah, a distance of nine miles, for delivery of SU tons of lime loaded at Patumahoe. The lorry duly returned to Otahuhu on the Wednesday evening and the smart work accomplished is not only indicative of Messrs Andrew and Andrew's business enterprise but is distinctly creditable to the two employees who were in charge of the lorry. The ordinary fortnightly meeting of the Otahuhu Bor ugh Council takes place on Thursday next. '
