Altogether the function was a success, about £6O being received as the result of the effort. The Pastor, the Rev Jones, on behalf "of the church, desires to express his thanks to the many willing helpers who contributed to the success of the undertaking.

On Saturday last the manager and representatives of the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., met the Chairman (Mr R. M. Gillespie) of the Papakura Town Board on the site of the Company's new saleyards and the result of their interview was that the contractor (Mr Austin) has commenced the construction of the saleyards, which will be situated at the end of Wellington street. The work is likely to occupy i-ix months and will cost approximately £3OOO. When it is remembered that the agitation for the removal of the present saleyards began in 1912 the Town Board now in office are to be congratulated that their persistent endeavours to improve the township by transferring the yards from the main street to a less populous area have at last been rewarded.
