The following was the result of the first round of the Tennis Club's handicaps played on Saturday last, viz. : Ladies Doubles —Misses Fear and Middleton beat Mesdames Pyne and McArthur : Mrs Bayly and Miss Bocketi b?at Mrs Wake and Miss E. Lorie ; Misses Bilkey and Freeman" beat Mrs 1 >ay and Miss G. Lorie ; Mrs Gumuier and Miss Wake beat Mrs Moreland and Miss Kiddell. Men's Doubles -Hart and Johnston beat Webb and Bagnall ; Hopkins and Stone beat Fear and Thornton ; Johns and Brooks a bye; Motion and Lysnar, a bye.
