At the Pukekohe Magistrate's Court last Thursday Ngatete Clark, a Maori from Onewhero, was charged that on tho 20th March last at Onewhero ho fraudulently aflixe.l a used halfpenny stamp upon a postal packet. Evidence in support of the charge was given by Mr Norman Cole Baker, postmaster, Onewhero, and Constable Taylor, <>l' Tuakau, deposed that defendant, win did not appear, had informed him that ho did not know that the stump had been used._.
