OTAHUHU.
On Tuesday night a deputation from the School Committer (Messrs Hunter, Clarkson and Kemplay) waited upon the Auckland Education Board to put forward the claims of the householders for more school accommodation owing to the rapidly increasing attendance at the school. The deputation was cordially re ceived and after a spirited address by Mr Hunter and figures of school attendance submitted by Mr A. J. C. Hall, headmaster, a promise was given by the Boaid tliat as soon as negotiations for tno purchase of land had been completed representations would be made to the Department at once for a grant for new schools (in brick) to be built immediately and for present time one or two large tents to be erected as a temporary measure. The Hoard were heartily thanked for their favourable hearing. The highest recorded attendance was on October 31st when 513 scholars were present.
