(See also page 4.) ORANGE BLOSSOMS. SMITH-LINDNER A pretty but quiet wedding took place on Wednesday last when Miss Alice Lindner, the second daughter of Mr and Mrs G. A Lindner, of Tuakau, was married to Mr Allen Montague Smith, also of Tuakau. The ceremony was performed at the house of the bride's parents, the officiating minister being the Bev. W. Butterworth The bride, who looked charming, wore a Shantung silk costume and 3 Wedgwood blue tulle hat. She was attended by her sisters, the Misses Martha and Millie Lindne#, as bridesmaids and they were respectively attired in Organdie muslin with pale blue hat and embossed voile with white "hat. Both carried bouquets of pink carnations. Mr P. H. Lapwood carried out the duties « f best man. After the ceremony the hippy pair left for Rotorua where the honeymoon is being spent Many friends will be sorry to learn that Mrs James Fleming, wife of Mr James Fleming, the proprietor of the Tuakau Hotel, is suffering from pneumonia and is in a serious condition. Several Maoris aie being treated by the Health Department near the river for fever and already three deaths have taken place. The Town Board have entered a strong protest against the Health Department for bringing Maoris affected by fever into the township for treatment. The Women's Patriotic League are arranging a concert and dance in the Public Hall for Thursday evening next in honour of Mr Ernest Lee, who is shortly leaving for camp.
