MANGERE.
Items of interest to Mingere residents were contained in the Washing Up Bill, which came before Parliament last week. The Mangere Road Board received sanction to proceed and raise a loan of £3OOO for the purpose of carrying out the proposed water supply scheme at the bridge end of the district. A poll in connection with this matter w ll be taken at an early date. The Bill also provided for the approach at the Onehunga end of the Mangere bridge to be vested in the Onehunga Borough Council. This procedure will now enable the Onehunga Borough Council to legally pay over the contribution of £360 promised some time ago towards the cost of the bridge approaches, the money having been expended in the meantime from out of the general funds of the Mangere Road Board.
