RED CROSS TEA A most enjoyable Red Cross Tea was given on Wednesday last in the Tiukau Hall by Mesdames Hunter, Fulton and Lewis. Mr C. F. Bickford, Honorary Financial Organiser to the Red Cross, gave a most interesting address on the needs of .supporting Red Cross Work Mr Dynes Fulton» proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Bickford for his instructive address and the same was carried by acclamation. Songs were rendered by Mesdames Hunter and Pilkington and Miss E Hunter and an overture by Miss M. Geraghty. While afternoon tea was being partaken of the -Misses Mayall and Dickens supplied delightful music. A collection was taken up and realised £7 4s. This is the first of a series of Red Cross Teas to be given by members of the Tuakau branch of the Women's Patriotic League, for which three ladies are to act as hostesses on each occasion.

A pleasant gathering of friends took place at Mr Tapper's office on Tuesday evening last to bid farewell to Mr W. Little, the respected local agent for Messrs Dalgety and Co., who is leaving the district to take over the management of Bothwell's Station, Glen Murray. Occasion was taken to present the guest of the evening with a case of pipes accompanied with the best wishes of his many friends for his future prosperity.
