NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council, held on Wednesday, the sth day of September, 1917, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at a Special Meeting to be held on Wednesday, 3rd October, 1917. at 7.30 p.m., at the Council Chambers, Edinburgh Street. In exercise oi the powers conferred on it by Part XLII of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908." the Pukekohe Borough Council hereby makes, by way of Special Order, a By-law under "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," entitled 'The General By-!aw No. 2. 1911." The object and purport of the proposed By-laws are as follows : 1. Interpretation 2. No vehicles to be left unattended on streets 3. No vehicles to be left unattended in certain streets for more than 15 minutes 4. Stands for vehicles may be fixed by resolution of Council 5. Prohibits use of cut outs on exhaust pipes of motor vehicles 6. Speed of motors restricted to 10 miles per hour in King Street 7. Traction engines not to travel on streets between sunset and midnight R. Smoking prohibited in public buildings 9 External doors of public buildings to be fitted with suitable holts 10. Spitting prohibited in auction marts and public buildings 11. Articles of food to be protected from dust and (lies during delivery 12. Buildings used for sa'e or preparations of meat for human food to be suitably constructed and kept clean as regards floors, walls, and ceilings, external doora to be kept closed when not in use and fly screens and ventilation to be provided 13. Prohibits accumulation of fat, dirt etc., in buildings mentioned in No 12 14. No was'.e material to remain in such rooms longer than I'.' hours l.'i. Shops not to have direct communication with stables, etc. 16. "Inner Area" defined 17. "Outer Area" defined 15. Buildings partly within the'lnner Area" and partly within "Outer Area" deemed to lie in 'lnner Area." 19. Specification of building material, etc., to be used in 'lnner Area'' 20. Brick and stone walls of certaia dimensions to be strengthened by piers 21. Specifications of parapets 22. Council to determine thickness of concrete walls 2:'. Brick and concrete walls to be provided with damp course 24. Class oi timber and dimensions specified for building materials 25. Verandahs henceforth erected in 'lnner Area" lo be suspended verandahs 26. Council may alter, amend or abolish any Cemetery fees by resolution A full copy of this By-law is deposited in the Borough Council office, Edinburg street, and is open for inspection by the public during office hours until the said 3rd day of October, 1917.
