Mr Bathe is also authorised to receive advts. and printing orders on our behalf. | The final euchre party in connection with the Otahuhu Croquet Club will be held at Mrs Mclndoe's on Wednesday, the 26th inst Private A. J. Willsted, who is well-known in Otahuhu and left with the 21st Reinforcements, has been twice wounded. From latest reports, he has now been transferred to a convalescent depot in France. Prior to leaving for the front he was employed by Messrs L. D. Nathan and Co. Private Oliver Bennett, who left with the same reinforcements, has also been wounded and he is an inmate of the same convalescent depot as Private Willsted. A good deal of interest was centred in the competition held at Otahuhu on Saturday last for the two-man coupling event, the competitors being four pairs of the Otahuhu Fire Brigade. Captain Wilson was in charge. The prizewinners were Christy and Kemp'ay, Wilson and Bathe being close followers as second. A gold medal presented by one of the members, is to be competed for on Saturday the 29th inst. A somewhat serious accident happened on Saturday to Private N. Sutherland, proprietor of the Otahuhu Pictures, who was on his final leave. Whilst turning the crank of his motor car the handle gave a "kick," resulting in Pte Sutherland's arm being fractured. Unfortunately no doctors were available in Otahuhu so he was taken to Dr Tressider at Onehunga, who ordered him to a private hospital in Auckland. The final meeting of the Band was held last evening in tbe Bandroom, when the balance-sheet of the recent patriotic concert waa read, showing a

deficit of £5 Comments were made at the neglect of the public to show their appreciation of the Band's services in the past by failing to adequately support the concert. When the subsidy is received from the Council there will, however, be a balance in hand of £l. Dr McDonald and Mr H. Humphrey, of Otahuhu, who have been on a ten days' trip south, returned home by the Rotorua express last Saturday afternoon
