ONEWHERO.
Mr D. A Moore has sold his property of 18 acres, > essrs Alfred Buckland & Sons being the purchasers. Mr Moore is the riling member on the Baglan County Council but as the triennial election of that body takes place next November it is understood that he will retain office until then. Mr Fox, who was recently appointed headmaster at the public school, is getting accustomed to his new surroundings and already has made a favourable impression upon the children and parents throughout the district. Although the recent heavy rains have had a serious effect upon the roads throughout the district there have been no slips. On the hilly lands lambs have been very promising up to the present, while calves despite the rough weather are vigorous and doing well There is a notable absence of young men everywhere and farmers are experiencing difh'cul.ies owing to shortage of labour. In the opinion of a local stttler the roads around Onewh ro are much better than i liny were a few years ago and this is due, he a-sorts, chiefly to the absence of cream carts on the roads since the introduction of the Home Separation system. In fact, it is claimed that the saving both to the fanner and the CVunty Council is greater than is fii'iie-nlly supposed.
