OTAHUHU
Private Arthur McCracken, who left Otahuhu with the 21st Reinforcements and was wounded in action, has been transferred from France to the Walton-on-Thames Military Hospital. (Jorpl. A. 8. Sheppard is now on final leave and is spending his lime visiting his many friends. Mr Walter West, of Avenue u ad. who went to England as a work r in the munition factory in Sheffield has returned to Otahuhu. He was much impressed by the determination of the people in the Old Country to win the war at all costs. Urgent private business compelled his return to the Dominion, Pte. Jas. Best, son of Mr W. J. Best, of Otahuhu, who was previously reported wounded, is now reported wounded and missing. Another of Mr Best's sons is a prisoner of war in "Germany. Mr H. Fearnley, who has been in business for many years as a bootmaker in Otahuhu, has closed his premises and gone into eamp.
