The Waiuku Railway

| To thk Editor] Sir,—ls it not almost time that the Waiuku-Glenbrook and Maubu district residents woke up to the fact of urging the authorities to push on with and open up the Waiuku branch railway ? Why cannot the Public Works Department ballast the line to Mauku without further delay'? This wauld servo the outlying districts until the GlenbrookWaiuku portion was laid. If there is no noise or agitation it will be a long time before the Paerata-Wai-uku railway is running. Certainly someone should call a meeting and all should combine so that the matter should not be allowed to lie dormant. The Patumahoe end have done their share.—Yours etc., " NIKAU " 6th Sept., 1917.
