During the past few dajs the Waikato river has been slowly lowering and unless there is a recurrenco of heavy rain tho stream will soon drop to its summer level. The Waika'o Shipping Co., Ltd , have now removed to their new and commodious offices in the building lately occupied by the Waikato Coop Dairy Company, Ltd. Since the flood has subsided the United Timber Mill has been in full work and all the machinery is now running. On Friday next a grand social and dance is to be held in the Public Hall on behalf of the Y.M.C.A. war work. The Magistrate's Court will he held on Wednesday, September sth, at 11.30 a.m. A special meeting of the Waikato Kiver Board was held on Saturday, when the resolution, passed at a previous meeting, was confirmed striking general and special rates for the year as already advertised.
