PUNI.
PTE, B. FOY FAREWELLED One of the most successful of the many social functions recently held in the Puni Hall took place on Monday evening last as a farewell to Pte. "Barny" Foy, who was on his final leave. The gathering was a large one and a most enjoyable evening was spent. Dance music was dispensed by Mrs Hanna (Devonport), Mesdames Gibson, T. and F. Rogers, and the Misses O'Connor, and Zinzan, whilst Messrs J. Wright and R Fulton very ably performed the duties of M.C's. A dainty supper was piovided by Mrs Black and the Misses Lucas, the tasty sandwiches being particularly appreciated. Mr M. Thornell, on behalf of the company present, asked Pte. Foy's acceptance of a wrisiet watch, w.th illuminated dial, and in the course of a few happy remarks he said he was certain that Pte. Foy would make as good a soldier as ho was a sportsman. Pte. Foy suitably returned thanks.
A small credit balance, accruing over the evening, was handed over for the benefit of the Uall Piano Fund.
