Pokeno Rifle Club.
[ To the Editor] Sir,— A.t the annual meeting of the above Club the vice-President, Mr T. Gordon, bitterly complained re treatment as regards ammunition and made the astonishing statement that his troop only received BGO rounds for the past year. Not having the receipt book at the meeting I could not then give the statement an authoritative denial. On looking up the amount i ft t er I found I had Mr Gordon's sig nature for 2228 rounds signed for on different dates and for specific purposes; as there was a balance on h an< * to be dmded of 290 rounds and 118 Gordon s share would be about JOO rounds the total Mr Gordon would have for the year would be 2328 rounds just three times what he told the meeting he received. When I showed Mr Gordon his signatures and the amount received by him and requested him to correct his statement publicly made, he most emphatically refused to do so, telling me his men had elected him and they had confidence in him. I am., etc, 3. DEAN
