The send-off concert and social, in honour of the members of the 30th Reinforcements now on final leave, to be given next Friday evening in Richardson's Picture Hall should attract a large attendance. The programme is a varied one and includes Dicker)'s recital by Mr Hams (Auckland Land a whistling solo by Miss Marjorie Hodge, while Miss Johnston and Messrs T. C. Seaton and O'Hara will also contribute. There was a crowded house at the concert held at the Methodist Hall last Wednesday in aid of the Methodist Camp Institute. A well arranged programme was presented as follows : Song, "Shipmates of Mine." Mr T. C. Seaton : flute solo, "Humoreski," Master Geo Tupp; solo, "Beyond the Dawn," Miss Jessie Bartlett; monologue, " Some Humour," Mr Alan McElwain ; solo, "The Minstrel Boy," MiErnest Drake; duet "The Voyagers," Miss Jessie Bartlett and Mr T. C. Seaton; flute solo, Master Tupp; solo, "Let me like a Soldier fall," Mr Ernest Drake; solo, "An old fashioned town," Miss Jessie Bartlett; solo, "The Admiral's yarn," Mr T. C. Seaton; monologue, Mr Alan McElwain; duet, "Watchman what of the night," Messrs E. Drake and T. C. Seaton. Much credit is due to Mr T. C. Seaton for organizing the function.

Papakura residents showed their loyalty on Saturday last in connection with the third' anniversary of the declaration of war with Germany by a united service in the Paiish Church when a powerful sermon was delivered by the Vicar (the Kev W. C Woods) to a large congregation. On the conclusion of the service a large company asseml led ouside the post office when the formal resolution as forwarded by the Government was proposed by Mr E M. Gillespie (Chairman of the Town Board) seconded by Mr Holt, and unanimously carried. On Sunday evening last a memorial service was held in the Parish Church, the Vicar again being the preacher. The report of yesterday's meeting of the Town Board will appear in our next issue.
