The chiof business of the meeting was tho consideration of electric light by-laws which, after some discussion, wore adopted. HALAXOE SHEET

The balance sheet, as submitted by the Town Clerk, was received and adopted. POUND KEEPER

Mr W. Pratt (the Pouad keeper) wrote resigning his portion, and the resignation was accepted, Mr W. Wyatt being appointed to the posi tion. PANGER It was decided to appoint a Ranger for the Borough and applications for the post will be called at an early date. LICENSING CATTLE After some discussion in connection with the recent proposal by the Council to license cattle grazing on tho roads it was decided hot to proceed further with the proposal.

K'XO STREET. Attention having been drawn to the oveiflowing of water at tho cesspit opposite Mr Lusher's shop in King Street it was decided to ask Mr 0. W. McArthur to submit a report as to the best means to remedy the complaint.

RECREATION GROUND. Mr D. W. McArthur reported on tho drainage of the Recreation Ground and estimated «he necessary uoik to cost £llß

The matter was refer/ed to tho Finance Committee to devise ways and means to orry out the scheme submitted by Mr MoAithur.

ELECTRIC LIGHTING. Mr E. J. Fenn, electrical engineer, submitted his report as to The duplication of the electric bght machinery at the Power House to provide current during the day time. He estimated the cost at £6OO not including the cost of foundatiors iind other necessary alterations to ihe budding. } s the expense was - regard ed by tho Oour.c 1 as prohibitive it was agreed to defer the matter with a view of some other propose! been fumigated.
