(See also page 1.) WAIKATO SHIPPING COY, LTD A meeting of the Directors of the Waikat t Shipping Coy, Ltd, was held on Friday last at Mercer when there were present Messrs J. T. Johnson (Chairman), R. English, W. Wilt-on, R Clephane, Jfl. T. Frost aud L B Horrock*, toge'her with the Manager, Mr A L. B.evenson. Tho Manager reported that the preparatory work for facilitating the carting of coal from the Company's mine at Huntly to the river was being satisfactorily carried (n aud within a short time it was anticipated full benefit of a full output from the mine would accrue. He also reported on the inaugurati n of the Waipa river service and the possibilities of an enormous trade with Pirungia and Te Awamutu di.-tr'cts. Other negotiations were als i pending and there was every likiho d of a vast expansive river tr.ul i tlnoughout the Waikato. It was announced that the dairy factory premises at Mercer had been secured for use as offices aDd for the storage of benzine, the latter being required by Auckland merchants for distribution at any time. The appointment of Mr H. J. Irvine to act as agent at Hamilton for the Company was confirmed.
