ANGLICAN CHURCH NOTES St George's Church has a flourishing phvsical culture class for girls which "meets on Friday evenings. The juniors receive instruction from seven to eight and the seniors eight to nine p.m. Miss Johnston is in charge of the classes and both juniors and seniors are becoming proficient. The exercises include marching with a variety steps for muscle development, skipping, wand drill and Morris dances. The march music is supplied by Mrs Leonard and the pupils prepare the Church hall and restore the seats after classes. It is expected that the season will conclude with a "display.'" The monthly meeting of the Mother's Union is to be held in the Church Hall next Thursday at 2.30 p.m. when an address will be given by Miss Hancock of' St Mary's Homes. A social and lecture will bo held in the evening when the Vicar (the Rov. H Mason) will lecture on interesting incidents of Church history his remarks being illustrated, by lantern views. A programme of musical items will also be rendered. St George's is to have the honour of the first parade of the newlyformed troop of Boy Scouts. Scoutmaster Barton expects to parade some fifty boys in uniform and the choir is preparing some special music for the occasion. The date has not been definitely fixed but will shortly bo announced in these columns.
