THE BATTLE OF THE SCHOOL
* PUKEKOHE ROAD SITE SELECTED At the meeting of the Auckland Education Board held last Wednesday the sub-committee that had visited Tuakau recently in connection with the need of additional school accommodation in the district presented their report and recommended that a "side" school should be erected on the f-ite on th« Pukekohe road under offer from Mr Joseph Glasgow. The report was adopted subject to approval of the site by the Education Depaitinent A "side" school is interpreted as a school for infants and younger children.
The site as chosen is the one that was supported by the School Committee, the "town" representatives having recommended to the visiting committee a site near the station belonging to Mr A. H. Tapper or another belonging to Mr Maddl in the township.
