CLEVEDON.

A farewell to three local " boys" viz , Privates Denhy, Campbell and Finlay, who wero on their final leave, was held at the Hall on Friday last under the management of the newly-formed Social Committee. llitherto it had been the custom to tender smoke concerts to tho " boys " on their final leave but a3 the fair sex were unable to participate in such functions, social evenings will be given in future. Dancing and cards constituted the evening's amusement and tho gathering was a groat success.

At a meeting of the School Committee held some weeks back, it was decided to erect new entrance gates and a si io gate leading to the school grounds These have now been completed and a large nrrcrocarpa has be n u removed from the grounds in order to provide room for an asphalt tennis court.

Miss E Murray, assistant at the Clevedon School, has had to applv for extended leave on account of ill-health and Miss E. Douglas has been appointed relieving toucher in the m antiine.
