BUCKLAND.
At a meeting of suppliers to the New Zealand Dairy Association held last month, the chairman was requested to wiite to the Rt. Hon W. F. Massey urging that additional shipping spare should be provided for butter and cheese. A reply has now been received from Mr Massey in which he states that he quite agreed as to the seriousness of the position that had arisen and which had been accentuated through the loss of a number of New Zealand ships. While in England a great deal of his time and energy was devoted to the important question of securing shipping space for our products and he would continue to make the strongest possible representations to the Imperial Authorities in the interests of pzoducers.
The question of cheese versus butter is likely to be again brought before the loral creamery suppliers at an earlv dite, as it is thought that owing to the shipping difficulties cheese will have preference ovpr but er.
