WAKE UP, CLEVEDON!
1 To the Editor j Sir—l am very pleased to see that we have at last awakened. After despatching 27 drafts of our "boys" we have come to the conclusion it is right to give the rest a send oft'. Hence we have formed a committee. If we are to retain our dash I would suggest that a few alterations should take place as to the management of future send-offs that are given to succeeding drafts. The first thing to remedy, I think, is not to advertise the start at 7.30 p.m and keep ladies in the cold and mud until 8.30 p m. Secondly, the committee should remove the dirt and dust from the tloor so that dancers, when dancing, will be able to recognise their partners. Again, I would suggest that the Committee should arrange to give each recruit a small present which would be following the usual custom elsewhere. Finally, I should like to sen more representative men present which would show their appreciation of "the boys" going away to fight our battles. Trusting those few suggestions will not be the means of giving anyone a soio head through putting them into operation.—l am, etc OxE WHO SI'RVIVED THE DI'ST sTOUM
