TUAKAU
[The Tuakau Supply Store, Ltd., are now the local agents for the "Times" and copies of the paper are obtainable at their premises.]
Although the recent inclement weather has somewhat interfered with the progress of the factory now being erected by the Waikato Cooperative Dairy Company, Limited, adjoining the railway line, evidence of the substantial nature of the building is already seen by the concrete walls which afford some indication that the factory will be of a lasting nature The opening ceremony is fixed for Wednesday, the Ist August, when it is expected the Premier, the Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey, M.P., will be present. Mr J. Boddie, one of the Waikato representatives on the Auckland Education Board, together with Mr R. Farrell (the Board's architect) paid a visit to Tuakau on Tuesday last, their object being to select a suitable site for the erection of an infant's school in the township. They were shown round tho district by the Bchool Committee and Mr Dynes Fulton and finally two sites were approved of from which the selection is to be made. In order to secure an extended telephone service from 8 a.m. to 8 pm. instead of S a.m. to 5 p.m. as now only two more subscribers to the local telephone exchange are I required. It is hoped that these will j soon be forthcoming.
