Y.M.C.A. TRENCH COMFORTS FUND
[To the Editor] Sir —Will you allow space in your u sef ul paper to draw the attention of your readers to the effoit of the Mauku Bible Class to raise money in this distiict to assist the above funds
The worthiness of the object needs no emphasizing here, but il may be well to point out that an opportunity now exists for the district to do something. This opportunity will have passed when the men leave the trenches. Theiefoie, Mauku, do it now, and do it handsomely. Let Mauku's offering bear some proportion to the sacrifice of the men who have gone. I would like it to be known that no deductions whatever will be made from the fund, every penny of which will reach some New Zealander.
Please send in your donations as ho organisation exists for collecting. Donations may also be handed in on the night of the concert, Wednes Jay, June 27tb, as advertised in another column.
In thanking you, Mr Editor, in anticipation of your granting me the favour asked 1 wish gratefully to acknowledge the assistance you have given us in the matter of advertisement—Faithfully yours,
W. M. BARTON, Home Missionary. Patumahoe,June"2lßt, 191.7.
