MANUREWA
At the last meeting of the Town Board Mr C. EL Lupton, in referring to the loss sustained by Mr J. McAnnally on the death of his son, Rillenian H. J. McAnnally, whilst serving the Empire, mentioned that he believed it was the first instance in which a resident of the township hid given his life for his country. He moved that a voto of condolence be passed to the family in their bereavement. The motion was passed in silence, members standing.
