On Saturday the 19th inst, members of the Mangere Road Board met representatives of the Otahuhu Borough Council, including the Mayor (Mr A. McDonald) and discussed the subject of e telephone bureau for Otahuhu. The Mangere people have much to gain by the establishment of a bureau at Otahuhu as by that means they would then be able to get a direct line to Auckland. Members of the Mangere bureau would then be able, on payment of an annual fee, to get through to Auckland any hour of the day or night. The movement is a progressive one and Mr McDonald expressed himself in favour with it.
